AGM. A truly magnificent plant. Flower spikes up to 14″ long. Lemon-yellow with a red filament. Scented. Height 90-120cm. Native to the Himalayas in India, Nepal and Bhutan these uncommon but useful plants can be treated like Cannas for summer bedding and in some areas are hardy. Plant in a rich soil, water and feed with a liquid manure copiously. If planted in pots or tubs, water several times daily. The foliage is attractive and many of the species are sweetly scented. If planted outdoors grow in a humus rich well-drained soil in a sunny sheltered position.
