Since early planting gives these bulbs the best possible start we recommend that you plant as soon as you can. If this is not possible then the individual bags should be opened and placed in a cool dry position such as a garage or shed for planting as soon as possible. Alliums prefer light, well drained, fertile soil conditions. Heavy soil should, therefore, be improved by thoroughly mixing in a generous amount of coarse, gritty sand to provide an open, free draining medium. Bulbs should all be planted in sunny positions, 10cm deep and 15cm apart. Once planted the bulbs may be left undisturbed.
