Plants from India that belong to the Ginger Family. Deep golden yellow flowers with red bracts borne on a spike 12 to 25 cm long. Foliage shiny dark green above and purple red beneath. They are deciduous and start growing during spring and produce flowers that last over a month.
Prefers shady or partial shady area with lots of watering during the flowering season. Can planted in pots, ground, between stone walls.
Flowering time May to August.
